United States Census Bureau: "Interim Projections of Age, Race, and Hispanic Origin.
Internet Release Date, March 2004 and Population Division, June 9, 2005

1.  Note that the share of the Hispanic population of the U.S. total population has gone from 12.7 percent in 2000 to  14 percent or a 15.6 percent increase in population and a 102 percent increase in population share. By 2050, its share of the population is expected to be 24.4 percent outpacing that of all but non-Hispanic Whites.

2. The over-all growth of the U.S. population since 2000 is largely due to the increase in the Hispanic population. Half of the 12.2 percent increase in the U.S. population from 2000 to 2004 came from the increase in the Hispanic population and the projections for 2050 indicate that 48 percent of the total increase in the U.S. population will also come from the Hispanic population increase.
